MARTIN LEA - 150 GAMES
Congratulations to Martin Lea who is the 3rd Nomads Sydney North member to play 150 games.
At Richmond Golf Club on 12th June, he was presented his 150-game badge by Captain Damon Cornish.
Martin lived in Port Elizabeth and joined the Eastern Cape Nomads in 2000 to play golf with mates, give back to those less fortunate and have a few beers with the crew after the game. From his first game to the last he played in the A division (0 - 9 handicappers) and won the Gold Cup and various other monthly games including winning a Silver Salver for making more than 40 points.
He moved to Perth in Western Australia in June 2012 and joined Perth Nomads where he was a founder member of the club. Martin played in a number of Australia Nationals and was the Overall Champion at the 2014 Cypress Lakes 6th Australian Nationals in the Hunter Valley.
Moving to Dubai for 3 years in 2017 didn't allow him to play monthly games but he did travel back each year for the Nationals and was then transferred back to Australia in 2020. Martin stayed in Sydney throughout Covid and started his journey with Sydney North and he has met a great bunch of fellow Nomads (in particular Mr. Werner Combrinck). He has thoroughly enjoyed his time playing new courses when we could play between Covid and courses closure due to rain.
He is now living permanently in Sydney and he can't wait for the rain to stop !
