FURTHERANCE OF GOLF 2022
Nomads Sydney South Captain Kent Foulis, Jack Newton Junior Golf Recipient Lara Thomsen (Souths), Nomads Sydney North Captain, Damon Cornish and Jack Newton Junior Golf Recipient Riley Millers (Norths). Unfortunately, the 2nd Norths recipient, Brodie Herring had to leave the prize giving early.
The 2nd "pillar" of our Nomads existence is the Furtherance of Golf: the development of golf in Australia is one of our aims and objectives and we have chosen to partner with Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) in developing young golfing talent.
Each year JNJG CEO, Peter van Wegen and Dale Hughes (Manager, Tournaments and Events) put forward names of young golfers for the 2 scholarship we award. Riley Millers and Brodie Herring, 2021 Scholarship Recipients were proposed again for 2022 and Captain, Damon Cornish handed over a cheque for $4,000 to JNJG to assist them in meeting some of the costs they'll incur this year in developing their golfing talents.
Sydney South have chosen Lara Thomsen as their 2022 Scholarship Recipient.
It was pleasing to see their parents at the presentation.
Riley is a member of Avondale and he recently won the 2022 Peter O'Malley Junior Masters in March at the Bathurst Golf Club.
Brodie is a member of Manly and this will be his final year in JNJG.
