AUGUST 2016 INDUCTEES
At Wakehurst Golf Club, on 21st August 2016, Vice Captain, David Carrick welcomed 5 new members to our Club. Needless to say, the influx of youngsters is most welcome and these new members are the future of Nomads in Sydney.
We don't have to remind our new members that we are not here to facilitate monthly games for them and their mates - rather we, through the medium of golf, come together to support those in need via our Annual Charity Day and also for the furtherance of golf: this is done by supporting teenagers in the Jack Newton Junior Golf programme.

Ado van Rensburg
Ado was introduced to Nomads by the venerable Barry Schutte, who has been very active this year, introducing 10 prospective members to the Club.
Ado is the Regional Solutions Manager for Yardi Systems and he has the sales responsibilities for NSW, QLD, & WA. He is married to Charlotte and they have a 5 year old son. He started playing golf in South Africa many years ago. His other passion is fishing so the golf competes for his precious time. Fish on Saturday's Ado and then there will never be a clash with Nomads Golf. |
Simon Cresswell
Simon oved to Australia Dec 2016 from NZ with his partner Stephanie. He is an Account Manager for GE Healthcare and was introduced to Nomads through David Bell (NZ Nomads). He started playing golf in 1998 best handicap +1, however, he struggles to break 85 now! While playing in the NZ v Aus secondary school challenge he was lucky enough to play with Jason Day.
Off the course, Simon is a sports fan - in particular league - and he is a Warriors supporter. Now that he's Australia, he thinks being an All Blacks supporter would be much smarter! Simon also started playing cricket again for Cammeray Cricket Club. |
Gordon SquireGordon is an accountant by profession, but currently the M&A manager for a rearing retail chain called Connect Hearing. He has been in Australia for 4 yrs in and has a girlfriend of 8 years.
He is a proud Saffa by nature and loves rugby (Ed: even after the poor performance by the Bokke???) and he is also an avid Natal Sharks fan when they're top 15 out of 16 on the super rugby table. He has been playing golf since he was very young but never took it too seriously. Gordon has a very competitive nature and also played hockey when he was at Uni. |
