85               2022 Charity Day Sponsorship Proposal

Dear all,

My name is Curt Wilson, current Vice-Captain of Nomads Sydney North, responsible for organising our upcoming annual Allan Gray Nomad’s Charity Golf Day is to be held on Tuesday 22nd November 2022 at Long Reef Golf Course.  Funds raised at this event go to assisting McGrath Foundation, together with support of junior golfers at Jack Newton Junior Golf.

Who are Nomads?

Leveraging off the enviable reputation of Nomads South Africa, Nomads Sydney North was established in 2005.

Through the medium of golf, the purposes of the Club are to:
  • Enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded people;
  • Raise funds to assist those less fortunate than ourselves;
  • Foster and encourage junior golf through the annual sponsorship of promising Australian players
The Nomads purpose, “through golf helping others”, we have been fortunate enough to have delivered a long tradition of successful charity days. Nomads Sydney North has raised in excess of half a Million dollars for charity and junior golf. This year Nomads Sydney North is partnering with the McGrath Foundation.

About McGrath Foundation

The McGrath Foundation funds McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia. They currently have 185 McGrath Breast Care Nurses, who help individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer by providing physical, psychological, and emotional support for free.

From the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment, their highly qualified nurses are there to help. While over 110,000 families have been supported since 2005, more nurses are needed to meet the growing rate of breast cancer diagnosis in Australia. They are proud to have nurses right across Australia including many regional and rural centres, where breast cancer treatment and support may be harder to reach.

The McGrath Foundation has become one Australia’s most recognised and respected charities since Jane and Glenn McGrath’s very public experience with breast cancer. When Jane was diagnosed with cancer for a second time, she had the support of a breast care nurse, who both empowered and comforted her, and her family. This experience set the mission for the Foundation, which has become an enduring commitment: to ensure every family experiencing breast cancer has the support of a Breast Care Nurse, no matter where they live – for free. They rely on the heartfelt support they receive from individuals, communities, corporate partners and government to continue providing and growing their nurse support across the country to achieve their goal of 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses by 2025.

Together, we can make a difference.

About Jack Newton Junior Golf
Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) is the organisation delivering golf to girls and boys under 18 years of age in New South Wales. Jack Newton, OAM, has been the driving force behind junior golf since establishment in 1986.
